Wycombe W’s v Charlton Ath Preview
Wycombe W’s v Charlton Ath Preview

Gary Waddock’s Wycombe team will play in a similar style to Stevenage so it will be interesting to see how much the Addicks have gleaned from that reverse.

Wycombe have beaten Sheffield United at Adams Park though the Blades did have ample opportunities to win. The Chairboys lost a thrilling encounter with Preston on the same night Charlton drew at Milton Keynes. Two down early on, Wycombe came back to lead 3-2 at the break, only to concede two second half goals to lose 3-4.

Powell will have Dale Stephens available again and the classy midfielder is likely to resume his partnership with Danny Hollands, in an otherwise unchanged team. Johnnie Jackson was suffering with a tight hamstring towards the end of the Carlisle game but should fit enough to play.

Andy Hughes’ impresssive display on Saturday will probably earn him a place on the bench at the expense of Jason Euell.

Hopefully, the more physical approach of Wycombe will not panic the Addicks into launching a series of long balls at Yann Kermorgant. There is far more to Kermorgant’s game than just being a focal point.

Powell may send this team out:

Hamer; Solly, Taylor, Morrison, Wiggins; Green, Stephens, Hollands, Jackson; Kermorgnt, Wright-Phillips.

Subs: Sullivan, Cort, Hughes, Wagstaff, Hayes.

Andy D’Urso from Billericay will be the referee.

If the Addicks are patient and play to their strengths, there is no reason why they can not win.
